  10. I am wondering if anyone else out there is encountering this problem:
  11. I am using an A2000, with a 2091 Ram expansion/SCSI interface.  There
  12. are 2M RAM on the board (which probably is irrelevant).

  14. The board is attached externally to a Zip drive and three HD's in a
  15. separate case.  I have tried a number of different physical
  16. configurations, and what I encounter frequently is that when copying
  17. large amounts from one drive to another, the drive activity light on
  18. the SCSI interface lights and shines solid even after all drive
  19. activity has stopped, and, nine times out of ten, I find that it has
  20. trashed the partition it was writing to.

  22. All drives are external to the machine, the internal terminator is
  23. soldered in place, and so would prove difficult (though not
  24. impossible) to remove, and the last HD on the chain has a similar
  25. configuration (terminators soldered in) which I find more than simply
  26. annoying, it's bloody stupid!  However, that is the way things are
  27. arranged at this time.

  29. Other arrangements under which this has happened using the same
  30. computer:
  31.  
  32. Two of the current three HD's + an Irwin SCSI tape.
  33. Two of the current three HD's.
  34. Two of the current three HD's (a different two) +Zip drive.

  36. Right now, I am suspect of the cabling.  Anybody else reach that same
  37. conclusion or have any other suggestions?
